Prolapse surgery is performed to restore or repair the vagina when it feels as if it is “falling out.” Most women will use the term “falling out” to describe the feeling that they have when the bladder or rectum prolapse or sag into the vagina. Women may also say they feel “a lot of vaginal pressure” or “I feel a bulge when I wipe.”

The physicians at Heartland Ob/Gyn utilize state of the art technology by using the Prolift System method of vaginal reconstruction.

What to expect: Prolapse repair usually requires an overnight stay in the hospital with patients going home the next morning. Most women complain of minimal pain after surgery. In the weeks to follow surgery, women are asked to refrain from heavy lifting and to abstain from intercourse for about four weeks.
